Decided to compile a list of late Paleolithic/Early Neolithic-era haplogroups from ancient DNA found in Southern China (specifically in Fujian, Guangxi and Yunnan), as I have not seen it being discussed much. Sources are here and here.
Sample: MZR, circa 12,050 BCE, mtDNA: M9* (Red Deer Cave, Yunnan)
Sample: Qihe3, 9797-9406 BCE, mtDNA: R9c1b (Qihe site, Fujian)
Sample: Longlin_1, 8736-8489 BCE, mtDNA: M71-a, (Longlin site, Guangxi)
Sample: Dushan4_1, 7024-6643 BCE, mtDNA: B4a1e (Dushan site, Gunangxi)
Sample: Baojianshan5_M1, 6385-4450 BCE, mtDNA: M75, (Baojianshan site, Guangxi)
Sample: Liangdao Man, 6370-6000 BCE, mtDNA: E1* (Liang Island, off the coast of Fujian in the Republic of China).
Feel free to add more to this forum if I missed any. Wonder how this can shed light into the origin of these haplogroups as well as population movement in Southern China during the late Paleolithic/early Neolithic eras.
