Thread on the origin of j-y15222

R11109; Italy, Isola_Sacra Y-DNA: J-Y15222 mtDNA: U5a1c1a

He was also thought to have been born in North Africa and moved to Rome as a child

I don't think so, or maybe it only relates to where he lived in his childhood and this very likley
He is vert possibe Roman or Greecc origin, but he lived in North Africa and then returned to Italy
I believe there are ancient sample belong a J-Y1522 in Portugal, and he has significant North African ancestry

Scr 617 8 is r11109 they believe he was born in North Africa and returned to Rome as a child. His autosomal looks similar to Greeks, I don’t think he had anything to do with the Portuguese

Yes i saw , i mistaken in saying that there are remains in Portugal belonging to J-Y1522
is clearly he lived in North Africa his childhood
